Congressman Ron Paul says we need actual and significant spending cuts NOW rather than the toothless spending "freeze" that won't start until 2011 and which, since it doesn't affect the programs that actually need to be cut, will only make the situation worse.

January 29, 2010
Congressman Ron Paul [R-TX] on Wednesday introduced legislation that would, if signed into law, end taxes on coins and bullion and repeal legal tender laws. The bill’s lofty goal is to reintroduce a system of competing currencies.

“At this country’s founding, there was no government controlled national currency. While the Constitution established the Congressional power of minting coins, it was not until 1792 that the US Mint was formally established,” Rep. Ron Paul said.

“In the meantime, Americans made do with foreign silver and gold coins. Even after the Mint’s operations got underway, foreign coins continued to circulate within the United States, and did so for several decades.

D.C. court case demands Obama explain eligibility

Contends president's allegiance is to Britain, Kenya, Indonesia

January 29, 2010

By Bob Unruh
© 2010 WorldNetDaily

A prominent attorney who has shepherded a number of high-profile legal cases challenging Barack Obama'seligibility to be president has brought a "Quo Warranto" case to district court in Washington, D.C., alleging his allegiances have included Britain, Kenya and Indonesia.

A Quo Warranto action, first recorded some 800 years ago, essentially is a demand to know by what authority a public figure is acting. The case, brought by California attorney Orly Taitz on behalf of herself, was assigned to Chief Judge Royce Lamberth.

Taitz told WND that in a separate action she has filed a notice of appeal with the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals of the dismissal of a case she brought on behalf of Ambassador Alan Keyes and dozens of other individuals in California challenging Obama's eligibility...

Her filing in Washington asks:

What is Respondent Obama's standard and burden of proof of his birthplace under Quo Warranto and ethical duties? – Considering Obama's first cousin Raila Odinga, Prime Minister of Kenya, sealed alleged records of Obama's birth in Mombasa; while the state of Hawaii holds Obama's 'original' sealed birth records, allows registration of births out of state, allows registration based on a statement of one relative only without any corroborating evidence and seals original birth records.

Does the state of Hawaii's withholding Respondent Obama's original birth records by privacy laws breach the U.S. Constitution by obstructing [people who want to] challenge, validate and evaluate qualifications of presidential candidates based on legally acceptable … records.

Does the restrictive qualification for president of 'natural born citizen' over 'citizen' include allegiance to the U.S.A. from birth without any foreign allegiance, as required of the commander in chief in time of war to preserve the Republic, including birth within the jurisdiction of the U.S.A. to parents who both had U.S. citizenship at that birth, and having retained that undivided loyalty?

Does birth to or adoption by a non-citizen father or mother incur foreign allegiance sufficient to negate being a 'natural born citizen' and disqualify a candidate from becoming president?
Other questions relate to a candidate's responsibility to provide documentation of their qualifications under the Constitution's requirements...

President usurper Obama/Soetoro/Obama, regardless of his proud and stubborn refusal to be transparent (as promised - no change there), paying expensive lawyers hush money to keep his revealing documents in the dark, is not a natural born citizen of two American parents and is therefore not eligible to be POTUS according to the Constitution. It's past time the fraud and foreigner is brought to justice! Emperor Obama has got to go!

First Australian surfboards

I’ve been enjoying searching the National Library’s collection of digitised Australian newspapers. The Sydney Morning Herald now appears to be digitised up to about 1940. I did a search for the first mention of the word ‘surfboard’. Apart from a couple of mentions in the 1880s, referring to the expertise of the natives of the Sandwich Islands on their surfboards, the first use of the word in an Australian context appears to be a mention in the SMH of 24 January 1913. In a report on the recent meeting of Manly Council, it stated that Aldermen were unanimous that the ordinance relating to the practice of "surfboard shooting" at Manly was in future to be enforced. “Alderman Neale stated that he had seen no fewer than ten surfboards among the thick of the bathers.” This is well before the much-publicised visit and demonstrations of surfing by Duke Kahanamoku in 1914, and it gives considerable support to the assertion that there was a strong local surfing culture at Manly before the Duke dropped in.

Ron Paul on The Federal Reserve

Ron Paul

Ron Paul (Congress R-TX)

(opening statement at Federal Reserve
hearing - July 21, 2009)

"The Federal  Reserve in collaboration with the giant banks has created the greatest
financial crisis the world has ever seen. The foolish notion that unlimited amounts
of money and credit created out of thin air can provide sustainable economic growth
has delivered this crisis to us. Instead of economic growth and stable prices, [The Federal Reserve] has given us a system of government and finance that now threatens the world financial and political institutions. Pursuing the same policy of excessive pending, debt expansion and monetary inflation can only compound the problems that prevent the required corrections. Doubling the money supply didn’t work, quadrupling it won’t work either. Buying up the bad debt of privileged institutions and dumping worthless assets on the American people is morally wrong and economically futile. "

What is your 'New Year's resolution'?

The 2010 New Year Appeal asks the public to think about their New Year’s resolutions. The appeal challenges people to consider adding a worthwhile cause to their list, such as 'helping a homeless person to transform their life in 2010'.

With over 100,000 Australians without a place to call home tonight, the scale of the homelessness problem remains high despite the efforts of government and not-for-profits like Mission Australia.

Daniel Petsalis, manager of Sydney's Missionbeat service, noted recently that the number of homeless people sleeping rough in Sydney is on the rise: "The City of Sydney’s most recent count found numbers had increased by almost 13 per cent between 2008 and 2009 – from 354 to 399," said Daniel.

If you are interested in helping a homeless person this year, donations to the New Year Appeal will help support Mission Australia services like Missionbeat or Mission Australia Centre.

You can help by making a one-off donation, or choosing to donate through our regular giving program.  Alternatively you might like to consider other ways you can contribute - click here to learn more.

Manly in 1910

A small display of photographs in Manly Library looks back to the events of 1910. Manly was a bustling place that year. Under Mayor James Bonner, new streets were constructed, the Corso was tar-metalled, and over 180 new buildings were put up. The Rolfe Estate, the North Steyne estate and the Roslyn Hall Estate were under development.
A new cricket pavilion was erected, and the old Clarendon Hotel was demolished. The tram-line was extended to Brookvale. The Port Jackson Company took delivery of its new ferry, the Bellubera.
You could see Shakespeare performed at the Victoria Hall, or attend an evening class at the new School of Arts (now Manly Community Centre). You could hear Manly Band beat all-comers in the NSW Championships at Manly Oval. You could compete in the first ever Manly ‘Marathon’. Or for sixpence you could be driven up and down the Steyne in a new-fangled motor-car – would they ever catch on? Perhaps the look of apprehension was justified
.

200 Cheers

2010 marks the two hundredth anniversary of the awarding of significant grants of Crown land at Manly. The grants were made to Gilbert Baker and Richard Cheers. In 1789, Cheers, a transported convict, had behaved with such exemplary bravery when the ship he was transported on, The Guardian, was wrecked, that he received a conditional pardon. He may have been the first butcher in the Colony. Certainly he was a butcher in Sydney when he received his land grant, and it is thought that he used his 100 acres of prime central Manly land to accommodate his livestock. Baker was granted 30 acres. In 1811, Cheers placed an advert in the Sydney Gazette warning those who were rustling his cattle ‘at North Harbour’ that they would be prosecuted with the utmost severity of the law. In 1813 he disposed of his grant to D’Arcy Wentworth. A plaque commemorating the land grants to Baker and Cheers was unveiled in 1960 on a boulder on the Fairy Bower walkway.

Government is Too Big to Succeed

Congressman Paul's Texas Straight Talk

“Last week, the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission kicked off their first round of hearings on the causes of the economic meltdown on Wall Street. The commission is being compared to the the Pecora Commission launched in 1932 to investigate the causes of the Great Depression. The Pecora commission is beloved by those who believe the solution to every problem is more laws because it was used to justify a number of new laws, including Glass-Steagall. Of course, none of those laws addressed the real causes of the Great Depression. It was the introduction of unsound monetary policy and central economic planning pursued by the Federal Reserve that really threw everything off balance. The Fed was founded in 1913 to stabilize the economy and prevent a recurrence of the short-lived Panic of 1907, but instead it promptly produced the Great Depression which lasted more than 15 years…”

"Dr." Martin Luther King, Jr. exposed as a fraud!

Excerpt from Martin Luther King, Jr. (& L.H De Wolff)

Allegations: Plagiarism in college and graduate school papers, including his doctoral dissertation on "A Comparison of the Conceptions of God in the Thinking of Paul Tillich and Henry Nelson Wieman"; Verbatim thefts also discovered in political speeches including the famous "I Have a Dream" speech (see Pappas' Plagiarism and the Culture War, Hallberg revised and expanded version, p. 133)

...

It was the British press which first broke the news with regard to King's plagiarism, an indication of just how sensitive an issue this was for American newspapers. An article in the December 3rd (1989) edition of the Sunday Telegraph by Frank Johnson asked, "Martin Luther King--Was He a Plagiarist?"

But it was not until November 9, 1990 that a major U.S. media outlet released the story on King's plagiarism--even though this story had been known for over a year in the newsrooms of major newspapers. In the U.S., The Wall Street Journal was the first to go public with a front page article entitled, "To Their Dismay, King Scholars Find a Troubling Pattern--Civil Rights Leader was Lax in Attributing Some Parts of His Academic Papers".

This story was definitely a hot potato--too hot to handle for the same institutions which had "lionized" and deified a mere mortal.

The response of academia was particularly appalling:

"They lied, they told half-truths, they made up fables, they did everything they could but address facts. In the face of their own university's rules against plagiarism, Boston University's academic authorities and professors somehow found excuses for King's plagiarism. They found extenuating circumstances . . . they compromised their own university's integrity . . . [and] called into question the very standing of the university as a place where cheating is penalized and misrepresentation condemned" (Jacob Neusner, in the Foreward to Theodore Pappas' The Martin Luther King, Jr., Plagiarism Story).

There were scores of responses written after these discoveries of verbatim theft by King, basically in defense of plagiarism. As Neusner notes, "To defend King's plagiarism, plagiarism finds itself cleaned up and made a virtue of blacks". Authors such as Keith Miller used the black preaching tradition and "oral culture" as an excuse for King's somehow having been held to a lower academic standard than what might have been expected of whites at a place such as Boston University in the 1950s.

Critics such as Barry Gross delivered a scathing indictment of the scholarly incompetence at Boston University which led to King's receiving a PhD awarded for a dissertation containing extensive amounts of plagiarism. Compounding the incompetence, the plagiarism in King's dissertation on "A Comparison of the Conceptions of God in the Thinking of Paul Tillich and Henry Nelson Wieman" was from another theology student (Jack Boozer) who had had the same advisor as King just three years previously, namely Professor L. Harald De Wolff.

Gross delivers some pretty damning speculations as to why De Wolff never noticed or responded to King's plagiarism of Boozer:

"So how did King's plagiarism get by? Well, there are three possibilities: Professor De Wolff neglected to read either or both theses, in which case he was incompetent, or Professor De Wolff read them both and failed to notice the plagiarism, in which case, also, he was incompetent, or Professor De Wolff noticed the plagiarism but did not think it serious enough to mention, in which case, too, he was incompetent. There is a fourth hypothesis that is possibly even more damning: that Professor De Wolff noticed the plagiarism but did not think it mattered for a black man destined to be a preacher to be held to a rigorous scholarly standard" (From Gross's review of The Martin Luther King, Jr. Plagiarism Story).

The final hypothesis mentioned by Gross seems to be quite plausible since Theodore Pappas alludes in his work to rumours suggesting that King had, in fact, been advised by his dissertation committee to cite his sources according to academic convention. Quite unfortunately, he did not do this, and his dissertation committee never followed up to see if their advice had been heeded, if, in fact, such advice had ever been given.

Shortly after the stonewalling and coverup attempted by those overseeing the King Papers Project (Clayborne Carson of Stanford University, and Ralph Luker of Emory University), two important books were published by Theodore Pappas: The Martin Luther King, Jr. Plagiarism Story and Plagiarism and the Culture War. In the years since the discovery of King's plagiaries, a number of other excellent research projects have resulted in dissertations and reports on different aspects of the plagiaries of Martin Luther King, Jr.

What this ongoing research seems to most clearly portray is not just the shortcomings of Martin Luther King, Jr. himself, but the failures of academia in confronting intellectual fraud and in holding scholars to high standards of academic integrity whatever their racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.

Black Day in America

Black Day in America: Obama Wins, America Loses

What nation in its right mind, after 9/11, after Osama (at least his collaboration with the powers that be on it), after our alleged war on terrorism, would elect a questionable and dark character who is pro-Muslim, raised during his influential years in Muslim countries, has attended a hateful Afro-racist congregation that preaches anti-American and anti-white sermons typical of Black Liberation Theology, is endorsed by avowed Black racists and rabid Nazi Muslims, etc. would let Barack Hussein Obama even entertain the notion of running for president for a second? It certainly appears America is under a curse and those who treacherously voted for that fraud and foreigner are helping to make Marxist Jeremiah Wright’s wish come true that God damn America. Shame!

Jeremiah Wright, Al Sharpton, Barack Obama, Louis Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson and others all represent the curse of reverse discrimination, the tail wagging the dog, the animals running the farm, the serious consequences for White Israelite disobedience to God (Deuteronomy 28:43).

We've failed to learn from history and have an illegitimate president elect; we've been deaf, dumb and blind to the two witnesses of raped Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe ruins) and besieged South Africa (that testify against our madness); and we've rejected common sense. Now we'll have hell to pay for it! God save us all!

"I will say, then, that I AM NOT NOR HAVE EVER BEEN in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the black and white races---that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of Negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with White people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the White and black races which will ever FORBID the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together, there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I, as much as any other man, am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the White race."

Media Release: Job-a-thon a huge success for Mission Australia

Mission Australia’s Beaudesert and Woodridge Employment Solutions centres in Queensland have successfully reached their goal of placing 500 jobseekers in long-term employment or training prior to Christmas 2009.

The final figures show more than 550 jobseekers benefited from the initiative which started in August 2009.

Mission Australia’s Employment Solutions helps jobseekers source quality jobs that match their capabilities and long-term goals.

The Job-A-Thon challenge was the brainchild of Mission Australia's Business Manager for Beaudesert and Woodridge, Bob Kennard, who said it was well received by clients and local employers alike.

“We received great support from local businesses – which helped make this initiative so successful,” said Bob.

“It was encouraging to know local employers and the local community were behind us 100 per cent. Our staff and clients are very grateful for this support.”

At the completion of the Job-A-Thon (24 December 2009), Mission Australia had successfully placed more than 320 jobseekers in training and more than 220 in long-term employment in the Beaudesert and Woodridge regions.

“We’re thrilled with the outcome of our Job-A-Thon, and are definitely looking to make it an annual event,” Bob said.

Mission Australia provides employment support through 93 offices around the country.

A prominent black candidate’s decision to drop out means the city might elect its first white mayor in 32 years.

Did they find any Anglo-Saxon-Celtic-American newsmagazine to quote from? Of course not! Such a magazine would be branded racist.

“It’s always about race,” said Lambert C. Boissiere Jr., a former state senator and currently the city constable. “I don’t know why we dance around it.”

New University program a catalyst for change for disadvantaged South Australians

A new partnership between Flinders University and Mission Australia will promote learning and self-confidence among a group of disenfranchised and marginalised South Australians.

The relationship – formalised in an agreement to be signed by both parties today – brings to Flinders University the internationally acclaimed Catalyst Clemente (Catalyst) program.

Mission Australia State Director, Jillian Paull and Flinders University Vice-Chancellor Professor Michael Barber will sign the agreement at Mission Australia’s State Office today.

Ms Paull said Catalyst would begin in South Australia with around 12 participants sourced from Mission Australia services and other local organisations such as Housing SA and Families SA.

She said Catalyst had proved valuable in increasing the social and economic participation of disadvantaged Australians since it was introduced in NSW in 2005.

“Catalyst helps students identify new possibilities for their lives – possibilities they may have believed were out of their reach,” Ms Paull said.

“The idea behind Catalyst is that poverty is more than just exclusion from material goods – it’s also about social exclusion.

“The way out of poverty is to give people access to more than just a wage or vocational training - it’s about engaging them in activities that lead to social interaction, learning and community participation.

“Catalyst uses the arts and humanities – such as literature, drama – to do just that. It builds participants’ self-esteem and creates a feeling of community engagement.”

Professor Barber said Flinders University was pleased to be the South Australian partner in the program.

South Australia’s first class of Catalyst students will enrol in a “Short Stories and Their Writers” subject to be offered at Noarlunga Centre.

Students will be required to attend once a week for 12 weeks for the short stories lecture and tutorial and a 90-minute learning and counselling session with their mentors. A complementary IT course will also be offered.

Each participant who successfully completes the subject will receive a certificate of completion. Those who complete four subjects will receive non-award certificates from Flinders University.

“This program is an example of how looking for new ways to deal with social problems – and the collaboration between community agencies that results from innovative thinking – can achieve significant results for people who may otherwise not have access to services most of us take for granted,” Professor Barber said.

“The potential of education, including higher education, to change lives is well accepted, and we are satisfied South Australia’s Catalyst program will lead to similar successful outcomes as have been achieved elsewhere.”

Ms Paull said Catalyst Clemente began in New York in 1997.

“The founder, Earl Shorris, believed that tertiary-level education in the humanities could assist socially disenfranchised or marginalised people out of cycles of poverty and homelessness,” she said.

“Humanities subjects are used because they require people to think about, become engaged in and reflect on what they are learning and how it relates to the world in which they live.”

More than 150 students in NSW, Queensland, Western Australia and Victoria have been exposed to tertiary-level subjects including Australian history, philosophy, Australian literature, art history, politics and media since Catalyst began in Australia in 2005.

Ms Paull said many of the students had achieved credits, distinctions and high distinctions, and some had been motivated to enrol in fulltime university study.

“The success of the program proves that for many people, all it takes is a start for their lives to be transformed,” she said.

MLK Day is a dishonest black holiday

Martin Luther King Day?

I had a letter published in The Blade (Toledo, Ohio) and sent to President Reagan, pleading with him not to commit the folly of creating any foolish "Martin Luther King Day." Our fellow black Americans, generally speaking, still hated President Reagan after the fact and still don't practice the good things (there were some good things - they weren't all plagiarized were they?) King preached.

A more worthy and honest holiday would commemorate Lee and Jackson, among others in this "Generals Month" of January, based on facts and not fables and feelings.

If we're to be judged by the content of our character rather than the color of our skin, why continue to demand quotas and curves and tolerate such racist organizations as the NAACP?

Why doesn't somebody do a documentary on those humble folk marching back then (with their useful idiot whites, too many liberal Jews) with a split screen exposing "niggas with attitude" (a black phrase), the rampant crime, outrageous rates of illegitimacy, unemployment by choice, gangs, welfare projects, black on black violence (not to mention assault on others), the "menace to society" mentality (another black phrase, thanks to excellent director Albert Hughes), disproportionate black prison population and the verbal lynching concerned blacks suffer mercilessly when they dare speak out against such inexcusable poverty of the spirit and moral degradation, slavery to sin and self-destruction?

It is appropriate on this black holiday (and that's what it amounts to, in all honesty), to consider this issue of race from a biblical perspective that those horribly brainwashed by the politically correct cult hate with a passion and rage against in vile anarchist fashion, drowning out any reason and voice other than their own. Regardless, this biblical truth must be shared, must be made known, while we still have the freedom to exercise our God-given rights of speech and religion.

Is interracial marriage wrong? Did God intend for the races to be separate? Did God divide the nations, segregate the peoples, to preserve distinct family ties?

The plain truth is made known in Race Matters.

NRL’s Sydney Roosters visit Mission Australia Centre

Yesterday thirty-five Sydney Roosters players visited the Mission Australia Centre in Surry Hills.

The event marked the beginning of an exciting new partnership between Mission Australia and the renowned eastern suburbs rugby league team.

As part of their Community Engagement Program, Sydney Roosters players will volunteer, mentor and visit some of our community services in the inner city/eastern suburbs area.

This will contribute to their broader program which encourages players to take responsibility for being active in the community in addition to their playing commitments.

Taliban of Jewish Descent? Experts are Checking
by Hillel Fendel

(IsraelNN.com) Experts at the National Institute of Immunohaematology in Mumbai, India believe a large group of Taliban Muslims might be descended of the lost Ten Tribes of Israel – and an Israeli rabbinical expert agrees.

Israel’s government is partially funding a genetic study to establish if there is any proof of the link, bringing an Indian expert in DNA profiling and population genetics to the Technion in Haifa. The expert, Shahnaz Ali, will be supervised by Israeli genetic research expert Prof. Karl Skorecki.

Rabbi Eliyahu Avichayil, who has dedicated his life to seeking out descendants of the Ten Tribes and bringing them to Israel, says he does not need or trust genetic testing for this purpose: “Rashi’s explanation to Jeremiah 31, 20 implies that the way to identify the Ten Lost Tribes will be via the Jewish customs that they maintain – and in this case, there are many of them.”

************
How can they have "Jewish customs" if they've lost their identity? The "Lost Ten Tribes of Israel" lost their identity because they lost the seventh day Sabbath and festivals and dietary laws. Those who maintain any semblance of "Jewish customs" are more likely either descendants of Jews or converts to Judaism - not Israelites.

Joseph isn't Jewish!
Not All Twelve Tribes of Israel are Jewish?

The birthmarks of fulfilled biblical prophecies include, as the Sabbath-keeping Church of God groups* and the Jerusalem-based Brit Am Israel organization teaches:

According to the Bible ten out of the twelve tribes of Israel split away (1 Kings 12:19), formed their own kingdom of "Israel" (1 Kings 12:20) and were exiled by the Assyrians (2 Kings 17:18). They forget their identity (Hosea 1:9, 7:8; Isaiah 49:21) and became the Lost Ten Tribes. In the future they will re-unite with the Jews (Ezekiel 37; Isaiah 11:13; Jeremiah 3:18) of "Judah", but until then they have a role of their own to fulfill. They were destined to be situated at the continental extremities of the earth such as North America, the British Isles, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa (Deuteronomy 33:13; Isaiah 24:16, 26:15, 41:8-9, 49:6), to be the richest (Genesis 27:28, 49:25; Deuteronomy 33:13-16; Hosea 2:8), and most powerful (Numbers 24:8-7; Micah 5:7-9) nations on earth and to control major international strategic bases (Genesis 22:16-17, 24:60). All of these points together with numerous others show that descendants of the Lost Ten Tribes can only be found amongst Western Nations, especially the English-speaking ones.

There are exceptions to the rule. The Pathans are believed to be numbered among the Israelites in the East as the British-Israelites are located in the West, Israel in the Isles.

Steve Forbes Interviews dr. Ron Paul on The Audit the FED Bill

Texas Congressman Dr. Ron Paul Wants To Open The Fed's Books audit the FED end its secrecy make it accountable . Congressman Ron Paul tells Steve Forbes that the recovery is not for real the government statistics are not to be trusted says Dr.Ron Paul.
"Investments should come when interest rates are low and there's a lot of savings. But we rejected that whole notion probably essentially since Bretton Woods broke down, not much savings, interest rates are artificially low. So the businessman doesn't get the right signals. So the cause of the problem should be laid at the doorstep of the Fed for the bubbles that had been formed." Ron Paul Said
"I think in the free market with some money you'd always have wild speculation, but they'd be very narrow in one group. And, you know, there might be a frenzy. But there would never be the entire system. So, yes, the banking system and Wall Street, and government, you know, they get together and they cause not only a national bubble, because the dollar has become the reserve currency and a fiat currency at that, of the world." Ron Paul added

Why the Fed Likes Independence

Congressman Paul's Texas Straight Talk

“Last week it was revealed that when Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner was Chairman of the New York Federal Reserve, he urged AIG officials not to disclose to the Securities Exchange Commission relevant details of agreements with banks to bail out Goldman Sachs. Apparently he felt at the time that regulators and the public would be angry that taxpayer money was used to fully compensate bankers who made some horrifically bad investment decisions. These banks should have suffered the consequences of the huge risks they were taking. After all, they kept plenty of rewards when times were good. Instead, the Fed found a way to socialize these major losses so these banks could survive and continue making more bad decisions, at the expense of the American people and the value of the dollar.”
